VR-based productivity and meeting app Immersed has added a new set of features including customizable passthrough portals along with support for tracked keyboards for the Meta Quest 2 headset.

The now Immersed features are already live and provide a free version where users get two virtual monitors to use in virtual reality when they are logged into a Windows, Linux, or Mac computer.

Users can try out Immersed for free on Meta Quest 2. The paid subscription option gives users additional virtual screens.

The latest Immersed update offers two critical features that allow you to use the platform for an extended duration of time. Users can specify portals in various simple shapes for the areas where they wish to see the physical environment such as spots on your office desk, keyboard, Quest controllers, and mouse.

The app is now capable of tracking the location of both the Logictech K830 and the Apple Magic Keyboard while also showing the user’s hands as their type.

Immersed says tracked keyboard support has been the top requested feature since the launch of its platform. The keyboard support is a complete gamechanger in how we interact with computing devices in that we no longer have to touch type. Without convincing haptic feedback, this might require considerable muscle memory to adjust to.

You can download Immersed for free in the Oculus Quest store. There is also an optional subscription plan.
